Cooper Cannon Moseley has arrived!
For those of you who have been hiding under a rock, Cooper Cannon Moseley has arrived! He is actually a week old today. I've been a little preoccupied as you can imagine so I am just now getting to finishing up this blog.
A little before 7am on March 15th, we dropped J off at daycare so he wouldnt just be sitting at the hospital all day. We got to the hospital at 7am and got all checked in and set up. I had the most wonderful nurse EVER! She walked me through everything that was going on and even though I've done it before, I still couldn't remember everything and was curious about all the beeping and screens and tubes,so she was great!
Then, it was just a waiting game. My parents came and hung out with us. I dont remember the time but after about 4 tough contractions I got my epidural. They hurt so bad and I was only dialated 4cm so I know they were not even close to what was to come but the doc said I could have the epidural anytime so I had experienced enough pain! The anesthesiologist came in and asked about last time, I flat out told him that it was awesome and worked so great that I had a high standard for him, haha. He did a great job, I cant imagine why people wouldnt get one unless they just dont make it in time. That's understandable but, if it's your choice you are CRAZY! You cant feel it AT ALL! THe local anesthetic hurt worse and it was just a mild burn 2 times and then done. Within about 10 minutes I was pain free and feeling good! The only issue this time was that after about 15 minutes I started feeling so nauseous and light headed. THe nurse laid me back to get more oxygen to my head. I actually had her get me a bag because I truly thought I was going to throw up. In about 5 minutes I started sweating a little and it all passed and was smooth sailing from there. I was so pain free I was able to update on facebook and take text messages the whole time. Although, James did post most of the updates as my IV made it hard for me to do much. It hurt and I should have had the nurse move it but i never did. NOw I do have a pretty bad bruise on my arm but it doesnt hurt and will go away soon.
We had been debating on when to have someone get J because we wanted him there when Cooper was born but not too early to get bored. When I got to 6cm I was going to wait about 30 more minutes but the nurse said after a 5 things could happen really fast. So, James convinced me we should get him at that point and am I glad he did! Things happened so fast! Aunt Katie and Uncle David went to get J and while they were gone I had progressed to a 9.5! And J's daycare is only about 15 minutes away! J had just enough time to come in, give me a kiss, take a picture and get out. I heard the nurse call my doctors office, which is connected to the hospital, and she said, "We need Dr. Hinds for a delivery, he doesn't need to sprint but tell him to walk briskly."
While he was on his way, the nurse had me push a couple of times. I must admit I was afraid to push too hard because I didn't want him to come out without the doctor there. Even though really, the nurses do MOST of the work and would know what to do =). Dr. Hinds got there, I pushed 2 or 3 times and there was Cooper at 2:09pm! I remember seeing the head full of dark hair and looking at James like, "Are you serious!? Where did that hair come from?" Yes, this was in the middle of my pushing, haha!
He came out and cried just a little and then they gave him to me and he was just so peaceful and calm! His eyes were open and he was just taking it all in. They did all his measurements and he was very quiet then too. He was 7lbs 4oz and 19.25 inches long. In comparison, J was 7lbs 10oz and 20.5 inches long, so Cooper was a bit smaller. I held him for a while, tried to nurse, then family got to come in and see him! J was the first to come in and he just wanted to take pictures the whole time, lol you can tell how he grew up.
After everyone had a chance to see him, they bathed him right there in the room. They only have a nursery for sick babies so they do everything in your room. Once he was all clean, everyone got to come in and hold him.
They all went to celebrate at logans for dinner and i rested. At about 6 we were moved to post pardum. Every nurse was so wonderful I loved it! The next 2 days were full of visitors and baby staring. Cooper is such a sweetheart! I dont think its any easier the 2nd time, Im just not stressed about anything. I dont think he's going to die every second or that the rough patches will last forever, its much more enjoyable actually.
J loved sitting on my bed and playing angry birds the best i think. Thanks to everyone who brought him something and made him feel special. I think its helped in his transition. He seems to like Cooper and loves to help but is not overly interested or the opposite. It doesnt seem to bother him when Cooper cries and he will even pat him and say, "its ok Cooper" so cute! He's a great big bother!
When we first told J Coopers name, he called him Super, which turned into super cooper. Now, we took J home in a tuxedo so we had to do something special for Cooper too so what better than a superman costume??? It was perfect! Plus, i love this picture because I can actually see me in him, woo hoo!!
We are all doing great! My mom came and stayed with me for a few days which was so wonderful and helpful! She even made homemade meatballs yum!! I also have some amazing friends that have signed up to bring us dinner every few days so that has been so nice not having to worry about it or cook anything!!
So, I will wrap up this blog thanking God for all of the many wonderful blessings we have in our lives. From 2 healthy, happy boys, supportive families, amazing friends, and everything else ive forgotten to mention! We are truly thankful and loving life!
Thanks for reading and I hope you have enjoyed our journey.

7 days or less!!!!
We had our 38 week appointment today and since last week there really hasn't been much news! I started thinking maybe my issues were more kidney or urinary so I stocked up on cran-rasberry juice and drank it all weekend. Funny, it all cleared up!! NO bleeding at all and I've been feeling much better; back to normal. I still have back pain and take tylenol for that (thankfully it works great) but the doctor said that wont go away until Cooper is born so, good thing I have the tylenol. =) My doctor thought for sure I'd have him before today but, Cooper was a good boy and decided to wait, at least for this long.
I am sooooo happy it was my last appointment because we waited in the waiting room for an HOUR!!! We've never waited that long. Then of course, we waited in the room for a bit too. Dr.Hinds checked the heartbeat, all was great. He measured me and said I have dropped quite a bit, so yay, Cooper is headed in the right direction. We scheduled the induction for next THURSDAY, MARCH 15th!!!! It took all of 5 minutes to call the hospital and it was set! SO we are due to show up there at 7am to get all set up! EXCITING! It's crazy to think that in 7 days (or less if he decides to come on his own) we will have our sweet new addition here in real life! He didnt check me to see if I was dialated more. He said there was no reason to since I was 2.5 last week, induction wouldnt be a problem so although I was curious, we were there for an hour and a half at this point and we were just ready to go home. He did do an ultrasound to make sure Cooper was head down so we got to see him a little (sorry no pics). Cooper is head down and although it is possible for him to flip over, the doctor thinks because I am smaller there is no room, and I feel the same too! This boy moves like crazy at night and there is just no room! I've only gained 20 lbs, which is about what I did with J, so YAY for me! I do feel smaller than with J but we will see what happens in the next 7 days!
J was induced 3 days early at 730am and Cooper will be induced 6 days early at 7am. J was born at 7:29pm so it'll be interesting to see how long Cooper takes to make his debut! We are thrilled it is so close, although it is a little crazy to think about. J and I had fun taking some pictures for this week so here they are for your enjoyment!
I will be sure to update this if anything happens before Thursday and as we move along, if you followed during J's process you know this, if all is going well and I'm up to it, i'll keep updates on FB. If I dont feel like it, Im sure James, Bill, Katie, and anyone else with the capability will update everyone so enjoy the ride, its gonna be fun!!!

ROLLERCOASTER
Well, I certainly have had an enventful day today! Readers disclaimer: This post isnt really detailed but may be more than you care to know so if so, just know everything if fine and we are all doing well. Still no baby yet. =) Ans knwo, this isnt just for my readers, this is a record for me to look back on as well, thanks!
Ok so, first of all, Ive been feeling different since I woke up, not sure how. However, I did stay up late helping make Katie's wedding invitations (which was so fun btw). J also woke up early and was so sad because he didnt have a seat on the train...LOL I guess he was dreaming or something but it was super cute! So, my day started different as it was. Well, about lunch time, I had to go to the bathroom and I was on lunch duty so I told my teammate Id be back. I went to the bathroom like normal and when I went to wipe I saw blood! I looked down and it wasnt just some "spotting." It look like ALOT of blood to me! NOw, I didnt exaimine it to see how much was really blood and if it had just mixed with the water. As you can imagine, I just kind of freaked out and left. I told my teammate I had to go, left, called james, told my next door teammate I was leaving and withing 2 minutes we were in the car.
Luckily, we work at the best school ever and knew our kids would be covered and in great hands!
I called the doctors office on the way and when I got there my doctor was the one on call at the hospital so he was at a delivery so they asked if I woudl see his partner. I was thinking, of course, i dont care i just want to make sure everything is fine! So his partner, Dr.Thoppil came in and said since it was alot of blood I saw he wanted to send me to the hospital (which is right next door, thankfully) to see if it was my water breaking, or placenta detaching. He did check me out and said I was dialated to 2.5cm. Funny though...absolutely no blood! OF COURSE! LOL.
We got checked in, Coopers hearbeat was fine and then we waited for a while. BY this point I could feel Cooper moving too so our minds were more at ease. The nurse came in and checked to see if my water had broken and it hadnt. Then we were told to wait because my doctor was in a c-section and then he'd come see me. We thought we would be waiting for at least an hour but about 20 minutes later Dr.Hinds comes in.
He said everything looks fine, my water wasn't broke, Cooper wasnt in distress, my placenta was fine. He said if it were my placenta I would keep on bleeding and Cooper would be showing some stress on the monitors. His only explanation was that I could have dialated quickly and that probably burst some blood vessels.
So, with that, I was discharged from the hospital. My doctor did say that if he were to induce Cooper would be fine since I am this far along. However, since there were no other red flags, he would rather wait and try make it to 39 weeks, which is the earliest he prefers to induce unless there is a medical concern. He did say that if it happens again though, he will probably induce no matter when it is because weird things can happen during pregnancies once but for it to happen again he feels there would be a reason.
With that we left, went home and took a nap. It was VERY NICE =). I have an appointment tomorrow (thursday) and we will see if i have progressed anymore or if all seems the same. I do hope to make it to spring break (only one more week Cooper!) but I just feel that it may not be that long. I am putting our bags in the car tonight and today I worked late making sub plans for next week just in case; so we will see.
I am just glad Cooper is ok and all seems to be fine. Keep praying for us and Ill be sure to keep updating...it's getting so very close!!!

4 weeks and counting...
WOW! Alot has happened these past 4 weeks. So much I havent remember to post anything until now...oops! Well, I have had 2 wonderful showers! I really have the best friends and family ever, that's for sure! I have an update from my doctor's appointment but here are some pics from my great showers first:

So...I had my 36 weeks appointment today. It was interesting actually. It was scheduled for 4:15 but the doctor's office called me and had to reschedule because a meeting came up for my doctor. SO I was able to go in at 3 instead. Not a big deal, I had someone cover my after school duty and left right after school to make it. I went back to the room about 3:15 and the nurse did her thing and then I waited for about 5 minutes and the nurse came in and said the doctor had to run of to deliver a baby and it would be about 30 minutes before he'd be back. She asked if I could wait. I wasnt on a time schedule but I also didn't want to sit in that room for 30 minutes! So I asked if I could go over to target and be back in 30 minutes. She said sure so I got some things done at target and when i got back i waited about 5 more minutes and the nurse came back in and said that I could keep waiting or see his partner. By this time it was 4:00 (almost my original time anyway). I said I'd just see his partner. At that time, Dr.Hinds showed back up. There was one person in front of me so the nurse suggested I wait so the doctor wouldnt be sad that he missed me. Luckily he was in to see me within about 10-15 minutes. He was very apologetic and thanked me for being understanding. I truly didnt mind because if Cooper decides to show up during someone else's appointment I want my baby to be the priority =). Anyway, just had the group B strep test done, nothing big, ill find out if i have it and if so they will just give me an antibiotic before Cooper is born. Ill find out those results next week.
So, now i am going every week! Can you believe it's that close?? Also, I talked with my doctor and he is all for inducing if I make it to 39 weeks!! Yipee! So...39 weeks will put the date at March 14th (which just so happens to be my brother's birthday). So, James and I talked and next week we will schedule Cooper to be induced on March 15th!!! Now of course, he could come before that...as long as its not too much before, Im ok with it =). But, next week the doctor will check to see if I have dialated at all or where I am in the process. He said there are no "rules" about being so far dialted to be induced so it looks like the 15th is the target date. It'll be good if it works that way too because it'll be spring break so james will be off and we will go home from the hospital on saturday and that will give james 2 days at home before having to go back to work on monday. Now of course, Im sure Cooper might decide to throw a wrench in these wonderful plans and that is ok...but Cooper...you better give mommy at least another week to get ready for you...you hear me?? =) I definitely feel stretching going on so I think he's making his way down to get ready. Here is an updated belly pic:
36 weeks-sorry it's not cropped, im lazy =) |
Ill be sure to give an update next week after I go back on thursday. I cant believe the 15th is only 3 weeks away, CRAZY!!!!

32 Weeks...Still a Boy!
Wow so, I totally meant to post at 30 weeks but there was no new news (in a good way) and so I kept putting it off. Next thing you know, since I'm going to the doctor every 2 weeks, here I am at my 32 week appointment! I tell you this is REALLY flying by!! 8 more weeks is all I have left and I do have a long term sub, yay! But I havent even begun to plan for when Im out yet. I really need to get started incase Cooper decides to make his debut early.
Well, at my last appointment, the doc asked where James was. These last apptmts are pretty uneventful since all they usually do is listen to the heartbeat or feel around to make sure all is ok so James didn't go with me. I told the doc. he didnt come since they were boring =) so the doc said he would do an ultrasound at 32 weeks for fun. James didn't end up going today but I still got my ultrasound, yipee! Cooper is head down but really likes his arms in his face but here are 2 good pics we got.
Check out those pouty lips! |
Here you can see his left eye opened up like he was saying, "pee-a-boo!" |
Now for the funny story! I was starting to have these feelings and thoughts of , "what if this baby is really a girl?" then, like 2 days later, my friend Christie told me she had a dream that I had a girl! It was really weird timing so that made my thoughts even stronger. So, since the doc was doing an ultrasound anyway, I asked if he would check to be sure it was still a boy and told him why. He laughed and this is the pic he printed just for you Christie:

3rd Trimester is here ALREADY???
So I'm 28 weeks which means I'm in my 3rd trimester! Now I start going to the doctor every 2weeks which is just crazy!!! I can't believe how time is really flying with Cooper. I remember with J just counting down each day and how drawn out it seemed but this time I don't even have time to count at all.
With the holidays over (which were fabulous) now we really gotta get our booties in gear and get J's new room ready and him moved. We are hoping to do this by the end of January so he'll have plenty of time to adjust before Cooper takes over his jungle. We also did register at babies r us and I plan to get around to target in the next week or so. There really isn't much we NEED luckily but there are some things that would help out for sure.
I had my appointment the thursday after Christmas and I had blood drawn for my glucose test which I think tests for many things but mainly gestational diabetes. I had to drink this orange sugary drink which most people think it gross but I really don't mind it. It tastes like a flat Sunkist, which of course, isnt great but it wasn't making me gag or anything. The hardest part was chugging it all within 5 minutes; now that made it worse for sure. With J all my tests came back fine so I anticipate no problems here either. The only issues I'm having right now is some strain on the muscles just under my belly leading down to my legs. I think its called round ligament pain. My doc. said as long as there is no bleeding or fever, etc. it's pretty normal. Just all those muscles stretching out. I don't remember it being so bad so often with J but it could be worse. We took J to the appointment so Dr.Hinds let us see Cooper on the ultrasound machine! J thought that was cool and what was even better was Cooper was moving his mouth like crazy and sticking his tongue in and out. He was even blinking which was pretty cool to see and we told J he was saying hi =). So...I realize the picture I'm about to share seems a little creepy, its not so bad in person but I still think its a great face shot. I've also posted my belly pics which most of you have seen on facebook but I had to share on here too.
So, I'm guessing unless my test results come back really bad, I wont have anymore info until next week when I go back. I also don't think I'll be getting any more pics of Cooper until he arrives =/ but Ill be sure to share my growing belly a few weeks at a time. I wish I could get a video of it moving but the video never does it justice. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season as we did and wish for a great 2012 year!!!
