Cooper Cannon Moseley has arrived!

For those of you who have been hiding under a rock, Cooper Cannon Moseley has arrived!  He is actually a week old today.  I've been a little preoccupied as you can imagine so I am just now getting to finishing up this blog.

A little before 7am on March 15th, we dropped J off at daycare so he wouldnt just be sitting at the hospital all day. We got to the hospital at 7am and got all checked in and set up.  I had the most wonderful nurse EVER!  She walked me through everything that was going on and even though I've done it before, I still couldn't remember everything and was curious about all the beeping and screens and tubes,so she was great!

Then, it was just a waiting game.  My parents came and hung out with us.  I dont remember the time but after about 4 tough contractions I got my epidural.  They hurt so bad and I was only dialated 4cm so I know they were not even close to what was to come but the doc said I could have the epidural anytime so I had experienced enough pain!  The anesthesiologist came in and asked about last time, I flat out told him that it was awesome and worked so great that I had a high standard for him, haha. He did a great job, I cant imagine why people wouldnt get one unless they just dont make it in time. That's understandable but, if it's your choice you are CRAZY!  You cant feel it AT ALL!  THe local anesthetic hurt worse and it was just a mild burn 2 times and then done.  Within about 10 minutes I was pain free and feeling good!  The only issue this time was that after about 15 minutes I started feeling so nauseous and light headed.  THe nurse laid me back to get more oxygen to my head. I actually had her get me a bag because I truly thought I was going to throw up.  In about 5 minutes I started sweating a little and it all passed and was smooth sailing from there.  I was so pain free I was able to update on facebook and take text messages the whole time. Although, James did post most of the updates as my IV made it hard for me to do much.  It hurt and I should have had the nurse move it but i never did.  NOw I do have a pretty bad bruise on my arm but it doesnt hurt and will go away soon.

We had been debating on when to have someone get J because we wanted him there when Cooper was born but not too early to get bored.  When I got to  6cm I was going to wait about 30 more minutes but the nurse said after a 5 things could happen really fast.  So, James convinced me we should get him at that point and am I glad he did!  Things happened so fast! Aunt Katie and Uncle David went to get J and while they were gone I had progressed to a 9.5! And J's daycare is only about 15 minutes away!  J had just enough time to come in, give me a kiss, take a picture and get out.  I heard the nurse call my doctors office, which is connected to the hospital, and she said, "We need Dr. Hinds for a delivery, he doesn't need to sprint but tell him to walk briskly."

While he was on his way, the nurse had me push a couple of times. I must admit I was afraid to push too hard because I didn't want him to come out without the doctor there.  Even though really, the nurses do MOST of the work and would know what to do =). Dr. Hinds got there, I pushed 2 or 3 times and there was Cooper at 2:09pm! I remember seeing the head full of dark hair and looking at James like, "Are you serious!? Where did that hair come from?" Yes, this was in the middle of my pushing, haha!

He came out and cried just a little and then they gave him to me and he was just so peaceful and calm! His eyes were open and he was just taking it all in.  They did all his measurements and he was very quiet then too.  He was 7lbs 4oz and 19.25 inches long.  In comparison, J was 7lbs 10oz and 20.5 inches long, so Cooper was a bit smaller. I held him for a while, tried to nurse, then family got to come in and see him! J was the first to come in and he just wanted to take pictures the whole time, lol you can tell how he grew up.

After everyone had a chance to see him, they bathed him right there in the room.  They only have a nursery for sick babies so they do everything in your room.  Once he was all clean, everyone got to come in and hold him.

They all went to celebrate at logans for dinner and i rested.  At about 6 we were moved to post pardum.  Every nurse was so wonderful I loved it!  The next 2 days were full of visitors and baby staring.  Cooper is such a sweetheart! I dont think its any easier the 2nd time, Im just not stressed about anything.  I dont think he's going to die every second or that the rough patches will last forever, its much more enjoyable actually.

J loved sitting on my bed and playing angry birds the best i think.  Thanks to everyone who brought him something and made him feel special.  I think its helped in his transition.  He seems to like Cooper and loves to help but is not overly interested or the opposite.  It doesnt seem to bother him when Cooper cries and he will even pat him and say, "its ok Cooper" so cute!  He's a great big bother!

When we first told J Coopers name, he called him Super, which turned into super cooper.  Now, we took J home in a tuxedo so we had to do something special for Cooper too so what better than a superman costume???  It was perfect!  Plus, i love this picture because I can actually see me in him, woo hoo!!

We are all doing great! My mom came and stayed with me for a few days which was so wonderful and helpful! She even made homemade meatballs yum!!  I also have some amazing friends that have signed up to bring us dinner every few days so that has been so nice not having to worry about it or cook anything!!

So, I will wrap up this blog thanking God for all of the many wonderful blessings we have in our lives. From 2 healthy, happy boys, supportive families, amazing friends, and everything else ive forgotten to mention!  We are truly thankful and loving life!

Thanks for reading and I hope you have enjoyed our journey.

7 days or less!!!!

We had our 38 week appointment today and since last week there really hasn't been much news! I started thinking maybe my issues were more kidney or urinary so I stocked up on cran-rasberry juice and drank it all weekend. Funny, it all cleared up!!  NO bleeding at all and I've been feeling much better; back to normal.  I still have back pain and take tylenol for that (thankfully it works great) but the doctor said that wont go away until Cooper is born so, good thing I have the tylenol. =)  My doctor thought for sure I'd have him before today but, Cooper was a good boy and decided to wait, at least for this long.

I am sooooo happy it was my last appointment because we waited in the waiting room for an HOUR!!! We've never waited that long.  Then of course, we waited in the room for a bit too.  Dr.Hinds checked the heartbeat, all was great.  He measured me and said I have dropped quite a bit, so yay, Cooper is headed in the right direction.  We scheduled the induction for next THURSDAY, MARCH 15th!!!! It took all of 5 minutes to call the hospital and it was set!  SO we are due to show up there at 7am to get all set up! EXCITING! It's crazy to think that in 7 days (or less if he decides to come on his own) we will have our sweet new addition here in real life!  He didnt check me to see if I was dialated more. He said there was no reason to since I was 2.5 last week, induction wouldnt be a problem so although I was curious, we were there for an hour and a half at this point and we were just ready to go home. He did do an ultrasound to make sure Cooper was head down so we got to see him a little (sorry no pics). Cooper is head down and although it is possible for him to flip over, the doctor thinks because I am smaller there is no room, and I feel the same too! This boy moves like crazy at night and there is just no room!  I've only gained 20 lbs, which is about what I did with J, so YAY for me!  I do feel smaller than with J but we will see what happens in the next 7 days!

J was induced 3 days early at 730am and Cooper will be induced 6 days early at 7am. J was born at 7:29pm so it'll be interesting to see how long Cooper takes to make his debut!  We are thrilled it is so close, although it is a little crazy to think about.  J and I had fun taking some pictures for this week so here they are for your enjoyment!

I will be sure to update this if anything happens before Thursday and as we move along, if you followed during J's process you know this, if all is going well and I'm up to it, i'll keep updates on FB.  If I dont feel like it, Im sure James, Bill, Katie, and anyone else with the capability will update everyone so enjoy the ride, its gonna be fun!!!
