Our 1st Apppointment

So, right after we found out, I started feeling the extreme tiredness! Everyday between lunch and dinner I HAD to take a nap, I was just exhausted, even if I hadn't done much. Then, we went to Vegas which, surprisingly, I wasnt as tired as before! We walked all over the place and stayed up late, slept in and did it all over again for 4 days. I was happy to not be tired but the nausea kicked in, BOO! I wasnt tired or sick with J at all so this was all new to me! I wasn't throwin up but EVRYTHING I ate made me feel sick. Of course this was not so pleasant but since we were in Vegas and has so much to see and do, I think it helped keep my mind off my stomach. Now we can tell this baby that they've been to Vegas, haha. The week after we came back from Vegas we had our first appointment. We are using a new doctor because J's doctor is in downtown Austin and for appointments and any emergency or when the big day arrives, we just feel it is too far so, we LOVED Dr.Grogono and Seton hospital but this little one will have to experience something new =) We visited the Cedar Park hosiptal and go a FABULOUS first impression! Everyone was so nice and a nurse even came out, answered our questions, gave us a tour and recommended some doctors for us. Her number one choice was an easy pick for us because in addition to having a great reccomendation from the nurse, Dr.Hinds and his partner are both Aggies! WHOOP!

I was anxious for our first appointment for many reasons. Although I had been having symptoms, I was still nervous the $1 Dollar Tree tests could be wrong. I also had been having some back pain (which of course I didnt have with J) so that made me worry and since my dad and cousins are both twins, I was very worried about there being 2 or more babies in there! I know twins are cute as can be but Ill just cuddle, squeeze, kiss and then give back other peoples twins =).

Our first appointment went great! We really Love Dr.Hinds already and his nurses and facility. There is only 1 baby in there ( hallelujah!) and we got to see it and hear its heartbeat!I didnt realized we'd already get pictures but we did so I've posted them! The baby was actually wiggling around too which just amazed us. Dr.Hinda said he loves to see that because it significantly lowers the risk of a miscarriage too! The baby's heartbeat was around 160 then, so Cissy tell us if thats a boy or girl, lol.

Since then, Ive been feeling great! My nausea has calmed down tremendously and Im not nearly as tired. I do have some picky cravings. I tend to want salty, unfried stuff like cheese and crackers or grilled cheese from Sonic...mmm! There are times where I just feel like gummy bears or just specific things like that but Ive been feeling great so yay! Im not starting to show yet but I am starting feel a slight difference in my pants, which is much earlier than last time...=(

I did take a 10 wk. pic because I felt like I should but there really isnt anything to show so ill jsut keep it until I have more to show and then post both to see the difference =) Thats it for now! Im finally caught up. I go back to Dr.Hinds in 2 weeks and we will get more pictures and info too! Its really hard to remember things I learned last time like foods to stay away from or things to do or not do but Im slowly find things online and saying, "Oh yeah..."

J seems to know there is a baby in mommy's tummy and he's going to be a big brother but I dont think he truly realizes what that menas yet. Everyday is different as to whether he wants a brother or sister but one day he did tell me "I was a sister...like Kayleigh. I like Kayleigh!" (she's his cousin, for those of you who dont know) I thought that was soo special!

Well, thats all the news for now! Ill post if anything else exciting happens!

The Big Reveal

As excited as we were, we had a dilemma! We had to decide how to tell our families! We wanted to do something fun like we did with J but knew if we got everyone together at once they'd suspect something so we had to be creative. The big problem was, we didn't want to steal Katie and David's thunder AND we were leaving for Vegas in a week! Therefore, if we waited until we got back from Vegas, we would have to keep it a secret for almost 3 weeks!!! Do you know how hard that is!?!? So, while we continued to think of ways to tell our families, we decided to tell some close friends in town that we knew wouldn't cross our families paths anyway. Finally, we figured out how to reveal the big news! For my side, my Dad is working in El Paso so we knew we'd just have to call him. But for my mom, we were meeting her, my Aunt, Pete, and my cousins in Dallas before we flew out to Vegas so when we went to dinner, we had the waiter bring a dessert to me and he said, "A little birdie told me there was an expecting mother here." My mom was sitting right next to me and I think she thought it was a mistake! The restaurant was really loud so unfortunately, not everyone heard him but my mom relayed the message to everyone and I confirmed the great news! Everyone was very excited! The funny thing was, it was getting late and Chip and Chrissy had to get Jack home to bed so we tried so hard to stall them but they just barely missed it.We filled them in at Gloria's thought so no worries.

We had to wait until after Vegas to tell James' family because we just had no more time. When we got back from Vegas, we were going to Houston for 2 days for a churhc meeting and then Galveston for 2 days to hang out with James' family. Therefore, we planned a cute reveal to happen while everyone was together in Galveston. The problem with this plan was, we didn't know at first but Bill was not staying in galveston because he had to work. there was no way we were going to do this without him so we had to resort to plan C...which was not created until that Saturday night on the way to Mike and Anne's from church. As we were all sitting in Mike and Anne's living room talking late at night, like we always do, James waited for a lull in the conversation and then just piped up and said, Oh by the way, Heather's pregnant. No one believed us!! It was pretty funny actually! It took us several minutes to convince them that the news was true and even after much celebration I think some people were still skeptical. haha.

So, even though neither plan went perfectly as planned, both families were, of course, thrilled to add a new bundle of joy to the family. We were then able to call and tell the news to other friends and family and finally after my first appointment, we release the news on Facebook! It was tehn "official." We appreciate all of the support and sweet messages from friends and family!

I think this is a great place to stop for now and I will continue about how I've been feeling and our first appointment (with pics) in the next post. Hopefully I wont take so long to get that up so I can finally be caught up to real time!

This is Where it all Began...

Thanks for reading our blog! We hope to keep this one updated as much as we did with J's. I know already that it will be harder because I am just now getting around to starting this one. I thought that I was just about 10 weeks but as my cute little ticker says right at this moment, I am closer to 9 (but whose counting). I am due March 21st and I actually have 2 friends due in March too! What a special month it will be.

So onto the details, DISCLAIMER: I will try not to go into too much detail as I know most of you will think TMI. There may be some info you could care less about but I feel it is important to the story to just block it out =)

James and I assumed it would take us a lot longer to get pregnant this time because with J it happened right away. We felt that there was no way we could be so lucky and blessed for that to happen again but...God is good and here we are again! We wanted to try to plan it for the end of the school year again so that I could possibly just miss the rest of the year and not be out any money. We figured that we had the summer months through about Aug./Sept. to try and then we would wait a little bit so that I wouldnt have to miss the very beginning of the next school year. So with that in mind, we really just stopped preventing more than trying.

Around the beginning of July, I started to "feel" like I might be pregnant. I can't really describe the feelings but i know, I didnt know this well with J and if you have had more than one child, youll understand what I mean. I didnt have symptoms really...just felt pregnant. I did feel kind of silly and was afraid to get my hopes up since I knew it had only been a few weeks of "non-preventing" so I didnt even tell James. I then tried to see if by dates, it was even possible. The problem was, since we really weren't trying, I honestly couldnt remember my "time of the month" dates! I did have it narrowed down to 2 or 3 weeks(crazy i know!) and so that didnt help at all.

Then, on July 19, Katie, James' sister, got engaged (to an AWESOME guy I might add) and we were all overwhelmed with joy. I still felt pregnant however there was an added symptom that I had with J and that was sore "ta-ta's" (trying not to get too graphic here) So the next day I decided to tell James. He was shocked and thrilled and wanted to get a test right away. I wanted to to wait because I figured I should be "starting" either that week or next and tests are RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE. James suggested that we get a test from the Dollar Tree..where everything truly is only a dollar. I looked at him like he was crazy and said Id NEVER trust those things! (raise your hand if you think or use to think the same thing....yeah, thats what I thought!) So, James did some research online and showed me several people that confirm how accurate they are. One sight had 150 posts about them and only 2 were negative and those were from people that hadnt tried them...just speculation. So, he twisted my arm and on Thursday we went to Dollar Tree. We picked up 2 tests and did one when we got home. It immediately and very clearly showed positive. Now, among all this research James did, he also found that it is sometimes normal to get a false negative but VERY uncommon to get a false positive because the pregnancy hormone has to be present enough for it to show positive. So with excitement (and still a little unsurety from me) we celebrated! I did take the other test the next day and we got the same results. It all still didnt seem quite real but nonetheless, we were overjoyed.

I think Ill stop here for now, as this is quite lengthy and continue with how we told our families in the next "episode." Hope you enjoyed and feel free to comment...BTW, if you have a blog youll understand, the more comments I get, the more I want to post b/c I can see that people are reading =)
